Coastal state negotiations on mackerel in Clonakilty 18 – 22 November 2013.
The coastal state negotiations on mackerel will resume today 18 November in Clonakilty Ireland. The negotiations are set to last until Friday 22 November.
Having met in London in October, the coastal states have already dealt with some of the issues on the agenda for the negotiations. As such, tomorrow, the parties will address issues such as management measures for 2014 and sharing arrangement for 2014.
Taking into consideration the positive spirit and constructive dialogue between the parties during the negotiations on mackerel in October, there is a certain hope that the coastal states will be able to make progress during these negotiations.
The Faroese Minister of Fisheries, Mr Jacob Vestergaard is hopeful that there will be progress in Clonakilty given the recent constructive dialogue between the parties.
